Discover Thoronet Abbey

The Thoronet Abbey, part of the Cîteaux order, is one of the three Cistercian abbeys of Provence with those of Silvacane and Sénanque. It was built between 1160 and 1190 and completed in 1250.
Considered a masterpiece in its own right, it was renovated in 1841 after the Revolution, more than 600 years after its construction.

Thanks to the simplicity and purity of its volumes, it was an example of contemporary architecture for generations of architects.
