The Lantosque via Ferrata is divided into three stages:
- Les étroits de Riou
- La roche suspendue
- Les gorges de la Vésubie
Stage 1 Les Etroits de Riou
Via Ferrata des Canyons de Lantosque: A gentle adventure
The first stage, "les étroits de Riou", is ideal for beginners. This first section of the Lantosque Via Ferrata offers a gentle, easy route.
Clinging to the walls, you progress over a small Riou of transparent green water.
Between bridges, girders and rungs along moss-covered cliffs, this section plunges you into the heart of nature without great heights (around 10 meters).
It's the perfect way to get your bearings while enjoying the tropical atmosphere of the Vésubie.
2nd stage La Roche Suspendue
Wild Beauty and Tropical Atmosphere
As you progress, you join the Riou until you reach the banks of the Vésubie.
Here, the via ferrata takes on the air of canyoning, with its walls adorned with moss and tropical ferns.
The atmosphere is even more immersive, almost mystical, as if suspended between heaven and earth in this luxuriant natural setting.
This second stage, marked by the raw beauty of the gorges, takes you into a world where adventure and scenery blend in harmony.
You'll pass over the final waterfall of the Riou de Lantosque. And finish this second stage on a rock suspended between the two banks of the Vésubie called "Le Boucin".
Stage 3 Vésubie gorges
The last stage offers even more thrills and sensations!
The final section of this Via Ferrata des Canyons de Lantosque is an adrenalin rush, with monkey bridges suspended over the torrent, offering thrilling sensations and breathtaking views.
After passing an old stone aqueduct, you begin a more intense ascent along the vertical wall, eventually reaching the heights of the village of Lantosque.
A final 100-meter-long footbridge offers an unrivalled view before a short walk back to the return point.
2 escape routes are possible if needed. One after 200m of via ferrata and another after 600m.
