The Matisse Museum is one of the most important museums in Nice, located in the gardens of the Cimiez Arena.
It has one of the only collections of Matisse's work insofar as it brings together a set of works and objects by the artist and his heirs.

To visit the Matisse museum is to have the privilege of penetrating into the intimacy of his creation.

Works by Matisse

The collection of the Matisse Museum in Nice is unique in the world in that it brings together a set of works and objects from the artist's collection or his heirs.
Most of these works and objects come directly or almost directly from Henri Matisse's studio, and therefore constitute an exceptional testimony. During your visit you will enter the intimacy of Matisse. Thus through this course the museum makes you relive the painter in which his works and objects answer each other.
The interest of the collection lies in the panorama that the museum of Nice offers since the first paintings. You will discover his works from 1890 to the gouache papers from the end of his life, and the presentation of all the techniques of expression of the artist.
The Matisse museum also keeps the personal objects of the artist, which allows to enter the intimacy of his creation.
