From January 28, 2023 to January 08, 2024, the National Chagall Museum celebrates its 50th anniversary and launches the exhibition "Chagall and Me." 

Throughout this event, the Chagall Museum brings in artists from different worlds such as dancers, writers, visual artists ...

The exhibition "Chagall and I!" is divided into 3 periods. The first one runs from January 28 to May 1, 2023.

On July 7, the weekend of the 50th anniversary of the museum takes place. On this occasion, the Chagall museum proposes activities such as concerts, open-air cinema, circus, reading of poems...

Come and discover throughout the year, the work of 12 artists (dancers, visual artists, writers...) for the 50 years.

In 1973, Marc Chagall inaugurates the national museum Message Biblique Marc Chagall, with André Malraux and the Minister of Culture at the time, Maurice Druon.
Until his death in 1985, Chagall was present at the inaugurations of exhibitions. He created a policy of concerts, building a concert hall within the Museum

In 2023, the Marc Chagall National Museum celebrates its 50th anniversary!
On this occasion, the museum pays tribute to the "house" wanted by Marc Chagall and inaugurated by the artist on July 7, 1973, his birthday.

This event "Chagall and Me!" celebrates with gaiety and colors the works of the artist, on the cycle of the Biblical Message.

The museum gives carte blanche to 12 current personalities:
- artists,
- writers,
- dancers,
- musicians...
to share their contemporary visions of Chagall's work.

 

Program 2023-2024 "Chagall and Me

This exhibition "Chagall and Me!" will take place in three periods:
1/ From January 28 to May 1, 2023
2/From May 13 to September 4, 2023
3/ From September 16 to January 8, 2024

 

1st period of the exhibition

For this first period, the Chagall Museum has given carte blanche to 4 artists from different worlds and nationalities:

- Exhibition "Hairy sky, warm rain" by Makiko Furuichi.
Japanese artist specialized in watercolor presents a series of watercolors and a mural.

- Stéphane Lambert, Belgian writer and essayist, presents "Le monde transfiguré".
Discover his works of art, including extracts of poems, lithographs, paintings by Chagall... as well as texts and original works.

- Asier Edeso and Mimoza Koike, dancers at the Ballets de Monte-Carlo and choreographers.
The duo presents their vision of Chagall's work through dance.

 

2nd period of the exhibition

The 2nd period will take place from May 13 to September 4, 2023

The 3rd period will take place from September 16 to January 8, 2024

Special birthday weekend 07/07/23

 

The weekend of July 7, 2023 is the exact date of the 50th anniversary of the Chagall Museum. The museum organizes a special anniversary weekend.
On the program on July 7, 8 and 9, you attend a large number of free animations:

Weekend program

- participatory creative workshops with Bella Meyer, Marc Chagall's granddaughter
- open-air cinema
- circus
- reading of Marc Chagall's poems

Concerts in the evening:
- Friday, July 7 at 8pm, a piano concert by Franck Barley
- Saturday, July 8 at 8pm, a concert by the group Magasin du café

Animation rates

During this weekend of celebration, all of these activities are offered free of charge. Admission to the museum is not free.

Museum rates

The entrance ticket includes access to the permanent collection and a multilingual audio guide.
- Full price: 10 €
- Reduced price: 8 €
- Groups (10 people or more): 8,50 €
- Under 26, teachers and PRM: FREE

Admission to the Chagall Museum is free every first Sunday of the month for everyone.
