2024: A season of renewal
This year, the Domaine takes a new step forward with the collaboration of the Esther Schipper gallery, which enriches its artistic program with works by Martin Boyce, Angela Bulloch, Ann Veronica Janssens and Julia Scher.
La Villa du Domaine Silver House
The Silver House, renovated by architect and designer India Mahdavi, is a work of art in itself.
Its silver façade sparkles in the sunlight, reflecting the surrounding colors, and its interior space, open to the park, invites artistic exploration.
Originally built in a traditional Provençal style, it was completely transformed by French architect and designer India Mahdavi.
The aim of the renovation was to create a space in harmony with the surrounding park, while enhancing the works of art on display.
The name "Silver House" comes from the bold choice to cover the facades of the house in silver paint.
This coating reflects sunlight and the colors of the surrounding nature, creating a dynamic visual interaction between the architecture and the landscape.
This approach allows the house to blend into its environment while retaining its own identity.
In addition to its distinctive exterior, the Silver House houses exhibition spaces that open onto the park, offering continuity between inside and outside.
This design allows visitors to enjoy an immersive experience, where art and nature meet in harmony.
The transformation of the Silver House illustrates the ability of architecture to interact with its environment and enrich the artistic experience of visitors to the Domaine du Muy.
A natural setting for contemporary art
Nestled in a secluded valley, the estate is surrounded by cork oaks, pines and ponds, providing an idyllic setting for the monumental works on display.
Landscape designer Louis Benech has enhanced the surroundings of the house, allowing local vegetation such as lavender and arbutus to come closer to the works of art.
Louis Benech is an internationally renowned French landscape architect, known for his elegant, innovative designs that combine respect for heritage with the harmonious integration of nature, as seen at the Tuileries Gardens in Paris.
This harmony between building and nature enhances the immersive experience.
