The Bank, museum of cultures and landscape

Relive the history of Hyèroise through the eyes of artists thanks to its collection of 200 works that trace the evolution of the city. The neoclassical building covers a flowery garden ideal for relaxing. Classified as a French museum, La Banque also hosts ephemeral exhibitions of emerging and established artists.

The villa Noailles

Discover this place classified as a historical monument, known for its modernity and its magnificent cubist garden.

A true architectural jewel, the villa Noailles has an exceptional panorama. Built in 1920, the villa is an art center of national interest, which houses a permanent collection of heteroclite works (Dalì, Man Ray, Cocteau, Buñuel...) and furniture.

Attend temporary exhibitions, lectures and workshops for children on fashion, design, photography and architecture.

The villa's programming is marked each year by two international festivals: the International Fashion and Photography Festival in the spring and the Design Parade in the summer.

The Templars' tower

Visit the tower and immerse yourself in a medieval and chivalrous universe.

The Templars' tower also called Saint-Blaise Chapel is one of the vestiges of the city of Hyères and of the Templars' order. The tower is composed of a chapel and a guard room.

The chapel was restored between 1985 and 1992 and now houses temporary exhibitions.

The castle of Hyères

Take the height to contemplate the wonderful landscapes of the bay of Hyères, the Golden Islands and the Maures massif.

Dating from the 11th century, the medieval castle is located on a rocky outcrop. You can easily reach the Villa Noailles and the old town by the path of the ruin thanks to the signs.

The parks

The Hyeres region is perfectly adapted to its natural environment. The diversity of its flora and fauna makes it a particularly suitable place for family activities.

St. Clair Park

Discover a tropical paradise of 6500 m². The park, once owned by the American novelist Edith Wharton, houses various subtropical botanical species from South America and Australia. There is also the villa Le Castel, built by Olivier Voutier, discoverer of the Venus de Milo. The park has a pedestrian path connected to the Parc Saint-Bernard.

Saint-Bernard Park

Below the villa Noailles, the park offers a breathtaking view of the entire peninsula, the harbor and the Golden Islands.
The park is composed of different narrow terraces, connected by stone stairs.

The Olbius Riquier zoological park

Visit the botanical garden of the Olbius Riquier park and its 7 hectares of greenery.
A bucolic stroll awaits you, enjoy the freshness of its pond and its waterfall.

The park has an exotic greenhouse and an impressive variety of tropical plants and shrubs: palms, bamboos, banana trees, cacti, agaves, hibiscus...

Admire the beautiful birds in the aviary and at the bend in the path, even come across peacocks in the wild.

A mini animal park is also present in the garden, observe deer, goats, geese, parakeets, and monkeys.

For children, there are playgrounds, a small train, a pony ride, and rides.

Hiking on the coastal path

Go for an adventure on the Giens peninsula. This sporty hike along the coastal path offers you a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean coast. Discover new and natural landscapes, sometimes even with your feet in the water.

It is important to be well equipped with closed shoes like sneakers and an appropriate outfit. You should bring water bottles and a snack for your lunch.

The course is intense, with steep trails and gusts of wind, so it is not recommended for families with young children or strollers.

The beach of Almanarre

Enjoy a lazy afternoon on the beach of Almanarre.

The beach stretches for 5 kilometers along the salt road, one of the two tombolos of the Giens peninsula.

The beach of white sand and turquoise water, offers an exceptional panorama appreciated by the tourists.

The water level is low, allowing children to swim safely in the supervised areas.

On the other side of the salt road, there are the old salt pans and you can see many wild birds, especially the pink flamingos, a few meters away.

Vertical Horizon

Discover the treasures of the Mediterranean with Vertical Horizon. The activity center offers boat rentals to visit the islands of Porquerolles and Port-Cros, but also unforgettable encounters with whales.

In a respectful approach of the marine biodiversity, sail off the coast of the Pelagos sanctuary, in search of cetaceans in the company of Cedric, an expert captain of these species. Or prefer a more intimate excursion to admire the natural landscapes of the region.

Natural area of the salt marshes of Hyères

Stroll, on foot or by bike, in an atypical ornithological park. The space is located in the Old Salins of 350 hectares, along the levee of Saint-Nicolas.

Observe 260 different species of birds in their natural environment. The site also hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions by artists from around the world.
