Wolf Park

Summer and winter alike, Parc Alpha celebrates the mythical animal of the mountains: The Wolf!

In semi-liberty, wolf packs live as in the wild, with the same attitudes, thus resuming the pack hierarchy. New residents have joined the park: chamois and hare, two species that live alongside the wolf in our mountains, thus completing the eco-system visible in the Alpha park.

The park offers a guided tour of 1h30 through a trail to discover the wolves in their natural environment, as well as other animal species emblematic of the Alps, such as the chamois, the ibex or the golden eagle. The park also organizes educational activities to raise public awareness of the preservation of local fauna and flora.

In the summertime, the mini-farm, the falconry show and the storytelling show will amaze the whole family.

The animal park offers lodges to spend the night in the wilderness, with a view of the wolves and deer.

Vesubia Mountain Park

Among the activities offered, we can mention the acrobatic course in height, the canyoning, the climbing, the bungee jumping, the zip line or the free fall simulator. The park is open all year round, with activities adapted to each season.
Summer and winter alike, discover Vésubia Mountain Park, a multi-activity complex for: swimming, climbing, jumping, walking at heights, descending a canyon, working on your balance, walking underground, doing sports, relaxing, playing, snacking, meeting people...

The Vesúbia Mountain Park is an indoor mountain playground, open to the incredible Vésubie Valley, near the Alpha Park.

The Boréon reception chalet

In addition to lodging and food, the Chalet d'accueil du Boréon also offers activities for visitors, such as snowshoe outings, guided excursions in the region and activities for children.

In summer, the Chalet du Boréon is the starting point for many hikes and a meeting place for the discovery of climbing.

In winter, the Chalet becomes the Centre-Nordique with 22 km of cross-country ski trails, a biathlon stadium and 18 km of snowshoe trails.

Hiking

Located in the Mercantour National Park, the Boreon is known for its beautiful scenery. It is a very popular hiking area, offering trails of all difficulties.

Black Lake

It is 10 km long, considered easy/moderate and takes about 3 to 4 hours. The trail starts at the Boréon cross-country ski station and follows the GR52 to reach Lac Nègre, located at an altitude of 2,271 meters. The lake is surrounded by mountains and offers a panoramic view of the surroundings.

Mount Archas

This 9 km hike is considered difficult and takes about 6 hours. The trail starts at the parking lot of Lac des Mesches and follows the GR5 to the top of Mont Archas, which rises to 2,755 meters. The hike offers an incomparable view of the Alps and the Boréon valley.

The Valley of Wonders

It is 18 km long and is considered easy/moderate and takes about 6-7 hours. The trail starts at the parking lot of the Madonna di Fenestre and follows the GR52 to the Valle delle Merveilles, known for its prehistoric rock engravings. The hike offers a view of the surrounding mountains and lakes.

Mount Mounier

Of medium to high difficulty, it lasts about 6 hours. You will climb to the top of Mont Mounier, at an altitude of 2,817 meters, offering spectacular views of the Alpes-Maritimes and the French Riviera.

The loop of the lakes

The trail is of medium difficulty and takes about 5 hours. It takes you through the beautiful landscapes of the Boreon valley, passing by several lakes, notably the lake of Adus and the lake of Trecolpas.

The valley of La Minière

Easy to medium difficulty, it lasts about 4 hours. You follow the Minière valley, an ancient Roman road that leads to the Couillole pass, offering superb views of the surrounding mountains.

The waterfalls of the Vésubie valley

This hike is of easy difficulty and lasts about 2 hours. You will follow the Vésubie trail, which takes you through the forest and allows you to discover several impressive waterfalls.

Mountain bike course

If you are a mountain biker, you can ride the trails through the mountains in the area.

Lakes Circuit

This 15 km trail takes you around the beautiful lakes of the Gordolasque valley. You can admire the wild and preserved landscapes of the Southern Alps, as well as the lakes of glacial origin. The route is quite demanding and includes technical climbs and descents.

Circuit des Cascades

This 20 km route allows you to discover the Gordolasque waterfalls, as well as the villages of Belvédère and Roquebillière. The course is quite easy and suitable for beginners. You can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and forests.

Circuit of the Lake of Fenestre

This 30 km route takes you to Lake Fenestre, located at an altitude of 2350 meters. You can contemplate the alpine landscape and the surrounding peaks. The route is quite difficult and includes steep and technical climbs as well as technical descents.

Climbing course

The Boreon is a popular place for climbing, with many natural and artificial climbing sites nearby.

The area offers many climbing opportunities for climbers of all levels.

The Slabs of Hell

Located in the upper part of the valley, the Dalles de l'Enfer offer slab climbing routes with difficulties ranging from 4 to 6. The climbing is pleasant, on adherent and well equipped rock.

The Icefalls

In winter, the Boréon becomes a real playground for ice climbing enthusiasts. The valley's waterfalls, such as the Mer de Glace waterfall, offer courses of all levels, from easy to very difficult.

The Baus de la Frema

Located in the lower part of the valley, the Baus de la Frema is a climbing site with slab and overhanging routes, with difficulties up to 8. The routes are quite short, but the climbing is technical and physical.

The Collet Wall

Near the lake of Boréon, the Collet wall offers climbing routes on a compact and adherent rock. Difficulties range from 4 to 7, with a large choice of routes.

The Rocca dell'Abisso

On the French-Italian border, the Rocca dell'Abisso is an internationally renowned climbing site, with routes up to 8. The routes are on vertical and technical rock, with very committed sections.

Skiing in Boréon

The Boreon is a popular destination for cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, hiking and other outdoor activities in the winter.

The ski resort of Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage offers a variety of trails for skiers of all levels. There are also lifts, ski schools and equipment rentals on site.

In addition to downhill skiing, Le Boréon also offers cross-country skiing with over 20 km of marked trails through the coniferous forests. The cross-country ski trails start from the parking lot of the Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage ski resort and offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

Nautical activities

The Boreon is known for its lake, its mountains and its water sports.

Canoeing and kayaking

You can rent a canoe and sail on the lake of Boréon. It is a pleasant activity that allows you to enjoy the view of the surrounding mountains while getting some exercise.

The stand up paddle

Stand up paddling is a fun activity that involves standing on a board and paddling on the water. You can rent a board and enjoy a peaceful ride on the water. The boards are quite large and stable, so you don't need any previous experience to do it.

Fishing

Lac du Boréon is also a popular place for trout fishing. If you are a fishing enthusiast, you can rent the necessary equipment and spend a day fishing on the lake.

Sailing

If you are an experienced sailor, you can sail on the lake of Boréon with your own sailboat. This is an activity that allows you to enjoy the beauty of the valley from a different perspective.

Swimming

During the summer, Lake Boréon is a pleasant place to swim and refresh. The waters are clear and cool, perfect for relaxing and rejuvenating.

The restaurant at the Centre de Montagne du Boréon offers hearty meals for groups, with French home cooking.

Hôtel Le Boréon : Located near the Boréon lake, this hotel offers comfortable rooms with a magnificent view of the mountains. There is also an on-site restaurant serving traditional regional cuisine.

Refuge de la Cougourde : Accessible on foot or by snowshoes, this refuge is located at an altitude of 2,117 meters. It offers dormitories as well as private rooms, and also serves hot meals.

Gîte d'étape le Montjoye : This gîte is located in Saint-Martin-Vésubie, about 10 km from Le Boréon. It offers rooms and dormitories, as well as an on-site restaurant.
